On May 21, the International Rescue Committee in Utah will host its first fundraising dinner in six years. Roughly 225 supporters, sponsors, civic leaders, and program participants will come together at This Is The Place Heritage Park for an evening of international cuisine, recognition, and celebration, all unified in the mission to invest in the families building new lives in Utah today.

We're proud to be the creative partner behind this community-building event.

Meet the IRC

The International Rescue Committee responds to the world's worst humanitarian crises and helps people whose lives have been upended by conflict and disaster survive, recover, and rebuild. The IRC in Utah is just one arm of that mission, supporting refugees and immigrants through resettlement, employment services, education, financial wellness, and youth programs out of Salt Lake City, helping families restart their lives in meaningful ways.

For over 30 years, the IRC in Utah has been doing this type of work, and dinners like this are a chance for the community to support their efforts.

Why this dinner, and why now

The event title is a deliberate nod to Utah's "Life Elevated" tagline, repositioned to honor the people doing the hardest work: refugees and immigrants rebuilding from the ground up. Rebuilding Lives, Elevating Futures is IRC Utah's signature event of 2026, and its first dinner of this scale since 2019. The fundraising goal is $100,000 toward local programming, with a deeper goal to raise the profile of the work itself. With a call on Utah's networks of donors, civic leaders, and neighbors, they hope to meet a moment that asks more of all of us.

Guests will share a meal that reflects the cultures the IRC serves, hear from clients and program leaders, recognize community awardees, and take part in a symbolic live auction. The night will be celebratory but honest about the urgency of the moment.

The challenges facing refugee families today are real and accelerating. But so is the local resolve to meet them.

How to be part of it

If you're in Utah and care about this work, Rebuilding Lives, Elevating Futures is worth your evening. Purchase your tickets or sponsorships here.

If you’re unable to attend, the most direct way to support refugees and immigrants in Utah right now is to donate to or volunteer with the IRC in Utah directly. The work continues long after the last plate is cleared.

We'll share a closer look at the creative work after the event. Until then, see you on May 21!
